Sessions 001: Meet Gigz Hub

The story behind Jersey’s new home for live music — where the idea came from, who it is for, and what we hope it brings to the island’s music community.
Jersey has a thriving and diverse live music scene, with talented musicians performing in venues and events across the island every week. But finding out what’s happening, discovering new artists or simply knowing where to look hasn’t always been straightforward.
That’s where Gigz Hub comes in.
For our first session, we wanted to introduce the people behind Gigz Hub, explain where the idea came from and, most importantly, share what we hope the platform will bring to Jersey’s music community.
What is Gigz Hub, and where did the idea come from?
Gigz Hub is Jersey’s live music directory, created to bring the island’s music scene together in one dedicated place.
The idea originally came from musician Brett Muldoon, who recognised a gap in the market and saw an opportunity to create something that could better connect Jersey’s musicians, audiences, venues and music-related businesses. From there, Brett’s wife, Gemma, took the idea and developed it into what is now Gigz Hub.
What started as an idea has grown into a platform designed to give Jersey’s music scene its own dedicated space.
“We wanted to create one place dedicated entirely to Jersey’s live music scene.”
Does Gigz Hub have a personal connection to Jersey’s music scene?
Absolutely.
Brett has been involved in Jersey’s music scene for many years and has performed in a number of bands over the years. The idea for Gigz Hub has come from genuine experience within the local music community and an understanding of what musicians, venues and audiences need.
This isn’t a platform created from the outside looking in. It has come from people who are actively involved in the scene and understand how important local music is to the island.

What made you feel Jersey needed something like Gigz Hub?
We were constantly seeing people asking on social media where and when the next gigs were happening, while musicians were relying heavily on social media to promote themselves.
There simply wasn’t one platform dedicated specifically to Jersey’s live music scene. We wanted to change that by creating somewhere people could go to discover local musicians, find upcoming gigs, explore venues and connect with businesses working within the music industry.
Why did you choose the name Gigz Hub?
We wanted something simple, memorable and instantly connected to what the platform is about — somewhere people can find gigs locally.
We went through a number of different names during the process, but eventually Gigz Hub just stuck. We loved the name, and it felt like the right fit for what we were trying to create.
Who is Gigz Hub for?
Gigz Hub is for everyone involved in, or passionate about, Jersey’s live music scene — from established bands and professional musicians to new and emerging artists, solo performers, venues, music-related businesses and, of course, music fans.
Whether you’ve been performing for years, you’re just starting out, or you simply love discovering live music, Gigz Hub aims to give everyone a place to connect, discover and be part of Jersey’s music community.
“Gigz Hub isn’t just about bands — it’s about the whole music community.”
Is Gigz Hub just about bands?
Not at all.
Jersey has an incredibly diverse music scene, and Gigz Hub is designed to reflect that. We want to showcase all types of musicians and performers — from bands and solo artists to acoustic acts, DJs and everything in between.
We also wanted to look beyond the performers themselves by including venues that promote or accommodate live music, as well as businesses that work within and support the music industry.
What can people find on Gigz Hub?
The aim is to make Gigz Hub a one-stop destination for Jersey’s live music scene.
Visitors can discover local musicians and artists, find upcoming gigs and events, explore venues that host or can accommodate live music, and discover businesses working within the music industry.
We also want the platform to be somewhere musicians can build their presence, giving them a dedicated profile where people can discover who they are, what they do and where they are performing.

What makes Gigz Hub different from simply using social media?
Social media is fantastic for promoting music, but posts can quickly disappear into a busy feed.
You might see a gig advertised one day and struggle to find it again a few days later. Gigz Hub is different because it is dedicated entirely to Jersey’s music scene.
Rather than having to search through different Facebook groups, pages and social feeds, the idea is to have one central place where you can discover musicians, find gigs and explore the wider music community.
If someone is looking for a gig on a Friday night, how does Gigz Hub help?
There are a few different ways to find out what’s happening.
You can head to the What’s On page to see upcoming gigs, or switch to the calendar view, which allows you to see every gig taking place on a particular night.
You can also visit your favourite musician or band’s profile and see their upcoming performances.
The idea is to make finding live music as simple as possible — whether you know exactly who you want to see or you’re simply looking for something to do on a Friday night.
“Every established musician started somewhere.”
Why was it important to include new and emerging musicians as well as established acts?
Every established musician started somewhere.
We want Gigz Hub to be a place where someone who has been performing for 30 years and someone playing their first gigs can both have a presence and be discovered.
There is so much talent on the island, and we don’t want the same names to be the only ones people see. We want to give new and emerging musicians an opportunity to build an audience alongside those who have already established themselves.

What is your mission with Gigz Hub?
Our mission is simple — to create one platform dedicated to Jersey’s local music scene and give musicians of all backgrounds, styles and experience levels the opportunity to be seen and heard.
We want to connect musicians with audiences, venues with performers, and people with the incredible local talent Jersey has to offer.
Most importantly, we want to help shine a light on the people who make Jersey’s music scene what it is.
What do you hope Gigz Hub becomes for Jersey’s music community?
We want Gigz Hub to become the place people think of when they want to find out what’s happening in Jersey’s live music scene.
For music fans, we want it to make discovering live music easier.
For musicians, we want it to provide another way to promote themselves and reach new audiences.
For venues, we want to help connect them with performers and audiences.
And for businesses working within the industry, we want to give them a place to be discovered too.
Ultimately, we want Gigz Hub to become a valuable resource for the entire local music community.
“Jersey has an amazing music scene. We want to help people discover it.”
What’s next for Gigz Hub?
Gigz Hub officially launches on 1 November 2026, marking the beginning of our journey to create a dedicated home for Jersey’s live music scene.
The website can already be added to a device as a downloadable web app, but we are also working towards launching a dedicated Gigz Hub app in the New Year, available through both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
The platform will continue to evolve. We’ll be constantly making improvements, listening to feedback and looking at new ways to make Gigz Hub more accessible, user-friendly and inclusive for everyone.
This is only the beginning.
